insert witty title here....

I don't have a make over for this week. We are about to go on a well overdue holiday so I am trying not to do anymore projects till after that.

I did however on the weekend buy this dresser. I know I said no more till my other projects are done, but I couldn't help myself! I have a problem! Plus it was a 30 second drive away from my house, So I would be a fool not to buy it!

So much potential! Oddly the handles are super glued on, so I have no choice but to use them...

Also, I sold my first 2 make overs, a mirror and the dresser.
I made enough to buy a spray gun! Can't wait! Then I have a tonne of makeovers to do when I get back and hopefully I can get them all done in one day with my new time saving Spray gun! Any recommendations on which ones are the best?
See you in two weeks, I'm off to the Gold Coast! wooooooooooooo

Free Desk makeover!

So remember last week how I found this desk on the side of the road? (I was to scared to take a picture of it sitting by the curb! I was just rushing to get it on the ute and speed away)

Well last night, the make over was complete! I sanded, primed and painted the desk, and painted the existing knobs.
I used the left over paint from my last dresser makeover, So I didn't buy anything! It's a free makeover, baby!

The draws we covered in ink, so I painted the insides black, and lined them with some wrapping paper I have sitting around.

Free! Free! Free! Love it!

Dresser makeover, Garage Sales and Roadkill rescue OH MY!

Here is my latest completed make over, I got this dresser off Ebay a few weeks ago:

She had seen better days, lots of scratches on the top and some of the handles where quite damaged.

So I spray painted some of the existing ones, and also brought some new ones. (Gotta love the Bargain centre around the corner from work, all handles $1!)

So I Sanded, Primed, and painted her with a off white mistint i found.

And here's the final product:

Notice those Blue vases in the left corner? They were one of the many Bargains I got on the weekend Garage Saleing! (Is Saleing even a word? ah well lets say it is) They were not that cute when I saw them...

This is how I found them, But I loved the shape and they were $5 for the both of them!

This baby was $3, I have painted her blue too, but have no picture. The bamboo place mats in the background where $2 for 8. I'm going to stencil them with a table runner I got for $1.

I also got 2 ugly lamps for $10, which I am kind of regretting now, I think they might be beyond help, so might just use the lamp wiring. And my last bargains where more picture frames for 50 cents each, and some old antique door locks for 50 cents that I'm sure will come in handy for something.

I was feeling a little sad that I didn't find any furniture to make over. But also relieved for my marriage's sake that I didn't spend any more money on furniture, so my hubby couldn't complain....
Then, around the corner from my house we spot a large desk sitting on someones nature strip. I pull over brakes screeching, and see there is a little cardboard signing leaning on it saying "FREE".
AHHHHHH!
I only parked one house away, but it took forever to get it in the back of the ute, this baby is solid wood, and built very well! But its mine now!

The next day I found out the top is way to wide to fit through any doors in my house, so I spent last night taking the top off (Easy done!) and sanding her. She will fit now, I will just have to put her back together in the study. Can't wait till she is finished, I'm still deciding to keep her plain and classic, or do something a bit different on the top, like a mural, or blackboard.
Any suggestions?

Lamp Makeover

Here is one UGLY lamp I found at the OP Shop. I know its terrible, but I saw a lot of potential in her.

So I prepared her for painting.

Brought some spray paint, suitable for metal.

Gave her two coats.

And finished off by buying a shade from Bunnings.

I was a bit unsure of the brown color on the shade, but it matches the faux fur fluffy pillows I have perfectly.

It wasn't my cheapest make over, but I am happy :)
I think I need more and more lamps now, I love the atmostphere they create. I off for a drive after work today to get some more I brought of eBay! woooooo!

Here is a sneak peek at my next project:

Some coffee table sprucing up

I read that many blogs, that I am constantly finding ideas, then forgetting where I saw them. I saw this idea last week (if someone knows where please let me know so I can credit the blog). I needed to add something to my bargain Ikea table, It's lovely, but pretty boring.

So I found an old tray that has been sitting on my fridge for aaaages.

Got some Gloss black Rustoreum, that paints perfectly onto plastic, and gave the tray 2 coats.

When it was dry, I cut some fresh flowers from the garden, and added some candles, and other little trinkets.

How beautiful and simple are freshly cut cherry blossums in a vase?
I love Spring :)

Now I am fearless of spray paint, here is a sneak peak of my next project:

U-G-L-Y!!!!!!
But not for much longer!!!
