Nursery Ideas/ Eye candy

As I type this, I have a baby in my belly frantically dancing away to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance." In the last few weeks baby is defiantly making it's presence known! Its such a great feeling. I'm 22 weeks along now, so bub will be here in no time! I am really starting to get obsessed with nursery Idea's, and lucky for me there are plenty of ideas out there on the net!

We had our 20 week scan, and baby was being difficult so they couldn't tell us the sex. Which I guess was a good thing as hubby wants a surprise.

We have been extremely lucky with hand me downs. Among many things, we scored a wooden teak stained cot and change table of my cousin :)

Last night, I quickly ducked into Typo and fell in love with these two prints:

I would hang them about the change table, but I didn't buy them as I was a tiny bit worried they are a bit TOO trippy... Thoughts?

This Rug is adorable, but I think it might be too small, only 80cm x 120cm. So I am thinking of getting two, or am still on the look out for the perfect black and white zig zag rug.

I love the expedit book case from Ikea, lots of storage room.

Because the room is painted white, and so far all the furniture is wooden, I want a bit of color in the room. This dresser from Ikea is blue, but I think it will work for a boy or girl still:

Who else is on pintrest? OMG. Obsessed! I saw this idea and knew we are going to have to have some shelves like this. The hubby even loved it too and started making notes of wood he needs to buy:)

Must. Use. Them.

After non stop stalking Young house love, I stumbled across this blog:

http://www.younghouselove.com/2010/08/the-much-requested-cloth-diaper-post/
And am sold on cloth nappies! We got our order a few weeks ago, and I washed them last night. They are sooo cute! (who could of ever thought I would say a nappy is cute?) and I hope they work well for us! I still have to order a sprayer, but our wet bags came yesterday.

So in the next few weeks, I should have some progress of the nursery to show you!

My BEST project EVER!

Hi!

Remember me?

Sorry I have been such a bad blogger, but I have been FLAT out for the last 4 months working on my most exciting project to date.

I don't want to bore you with a tutorial of how it all happened, so I'll just jump straight to the picture:

Yup! I'm Pregnant!

We have been trying for quite some time, so we are thrilled!

I have had really bad "morning" (really all day and evening) sickness, but in the last few weeks it seems to be going away. The happy hormones are in full swing now!

I am due October 17th, and we aren't going to find out the sex.

I can't wait to start organising the nursery! Lots of projects!

Wall unit makeover, and my first Giveaway! Woooo!

I brought this baby a few months ago, and she has been taking up room/collecting dust in the garage ever since.

60's Gold Diamond patterned doors? No thanks!
So I removed the doors, hardware, puttied, sanded, primed, and painted her in Dulux Grey pail.
Then I used a $2.06 mistint tub of turquoise paint I scored, to add some extra color to the back ground, and here she is:

I replaced the old handles with cute lil silver new ones.

I kinda fell out of love with her last night, but after I threw in some decorations this afternoon, I am defiantly back, head over heals in love with her.
This is only some decorations I very quickly threw together, I still got some work to do:

Upholstered chair

I brought this chair at a garage sale for $2 months ago. Apricot velvet... nice....

I took it apart and spray painted it in black gloss.

Then with my trusty staple gun I stuck on my new
uphostery fabric.
Then Viola I just stuck it all back together. Much better!

well overdue room reno blog

Hey Everyone!

So here is the final unavailing of our room. We all remember how hideous it was before right? (also notice the blinds, you are going to see them made over soon)

Two rooms, that were completely wasted space, so we decided to knock the wall down, and make it one nice cosy family room. We had to get a builder to remove the wall and put up a beam, as it was a load bearing room. He jacked it up on stilts, and took a few days.

After that we ripped up all the tiles and carpet, and smoothed out our concrete slab.
The boys spent a weekend hanging up all new plaster to cover the bricks, and make the wall have an even finish.
Then after sanding and finishing the plastering, we painted the whole room in dulux, cloud cream.
Then after leveling the floor, hubby spend HOURS AND HOURS laying our new timber laminate floor. He watched a video youtube and it told him it would take 2 hours. What a joke! all in all I'm pretty sure it took about 60 hours to finish the floor.

It looks so natural and I'm so in love with it.
Remember the old blinds? Well I spray painted them chocolate brown.
And here is the final product!

We soooo need a plasma to go on the blue stand

Am going to get a white coffee table and side tables

But I am so happy its all done!! Now it just needs some interior design magic and I'm so ready to go! I am starting an interior design diploma this week and I'm very excited!
Also, I am having my first give away next week, so If your not a follower make sure you sign up!

Projects galore! and room sneak peak

Lately I have been such a busy little Bee! Here are a taste of just a few of my projects I have been working on:
Here is how the room is going. Floor almost finished:

In our front lounge room, I got bored of the white frames and the pictures being spaced so far apart, so Friday I painted them glossy black and re hung them:

Here is my dream mirror, which I brought as a Christmas present to myself:

And my coffee table tray, I;ve started collecting owls.

I used 14 cans of chocolate brown spray paint on our old faded blinds. Yes i hung them on the clothes line to paint them!

Here is a sneak peak at the new room and our new leather couch:

I'm off to help with the finishing touches, I'll do a better detailed blog on it soon:)
